The Besnik Çaku
Scholarship
The Besnik Çaku Scholarship (“Bursa Besnik Çaku”) is awarded annually to a graduating student from Gjimnazi “28 Nëntori” in Shkodër, Albania, in honour of Besnik Caku, a dedicated mathematics teacher and Vice Principal whose mark was marked by a commitment to education and a connection to his roots in Albania.
Ever year, this scholarship recognizes a graduating highschool student who demonstrates outstanding achievement in mathematics, meaningful contributions to their school and/or community, and strong personal character.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the scholarship, a student must:

Be a graduating student in the current academic year at Gjimnazi “28 Nëntori"

Achieve excellent results in mathematics and maintain an overall average above 9.0

Demonstrate meaningful contribution to school life and/or the community

Exhibit exemplary behaviour, fairness, perseverance, and integrity

Plan to pursue higher education

Be supported and recommended by the teaching staff of Gjimnazi “28 Nëntori."
Selection Process
The selection of the scholarship recipient is entrusted to a committee of teachers from Gjimnazi “28 Nëntori”
The committee evaluates candidates based on their professional and impartial assessment, in accordance with the criteria outlined above. This ensures that the selection process remains fair, transparent, and rooted in the school’s direct knowledge of its students.
The recipient of the Besnik Caku Scholarship will be selected and awarded in 2026.
Future recipients will be recognized annually, and their achievements will be shared on this website.
